Four Oaks, Beckley
Grocer and sub-postmaster, Beckley (between Northiam and Rye) from the mid 1920s to 1938 or later. Johnson issued some sepia tinted real photographic cards of Beckley of identical design to some cards of Heathfield issued by John Barrow and Edward Errey. All three publishers (if they were publishers and not merely retailers) evidently shared the same supplier.
As can be seen from the example shown above, the cards have titles that were printed on transparent slips. Separate slips were used to add the label "Published by Johnson, Beckley" on the front. The cards are likely to have been issued around 1930.
