32 Market Street, Brighton. This firm issued good quality but captionless real photographic cards of the Victory Parade on Brighton sea front in August 1919. All the photographs were taken from a vantage point on a high building overlooking the front, and they look very much alike at first glance though close inspection reveals that they were taken at intervals during the Parade. A card of a terrace house in Grand Parade, Brighton was doubtless produced to separate order. The firm also issued at least one card of wounded soldiers recovering from their injuries while stationed in Brighton. Although all these cards are labelled on the back "Lucas & Cartwright, 32 Market Street, Brighton", the firm does not appear to be recorded in any Directory, and must have been short-lived.

It is not known whether Lucas & Cartwright had any connection with the firm of R. W. Cartwright & Co., photographers, at 63b North Street and 146-7 Kings Road Arches.
